After 10 years of negotiation the Gumatj clan have secured a 99 year head lease to be held by the Gumatj Corporation. This historic agreement will allow the local community to make decisions at a local level without requiring approval from the Northern Land Council for developments on their land. This agreement is the culmination of many years of hard work and provides a foundation for further economic development in the area.
