Ashley practices in commercial and corporate law including statutory interpretation and regulation, and the provision of advice relating to contracts and legislation. Ashley has extensive experience working with individuals, public and private companies, incorporated associations and government departments.
Ashley was first admitted to practice in the Northern Territory in Alice Springs in 2008 and was admitted to the High Court in 2010. He has previously worked as a lawyer in the public and private sectors and as an advisor for the Government of Samoa. Ashley also has experience working with Directors and Committee members including as a Company Secretary and a Governance Consultant.
Ashley has previously been an elected member of the Council of the Law Society of the Northern Territory and was the Co-President of the Northern Territory Young Lawyers in 2011 and 2012. He also served as the Northern Territory’s representative to the Law Council of Australia`s Australian Young Lawyers Committee.
Ashley completed undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Law at the University of New England and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law, Sydney. He also has Certificate qualifications in Government (Investigations) and Governance and Risk Management. Ashley is currently completing a Masters of Law at the University of Sydney and is a Certified Member of the Governance Institute of Australia.
