2018 Bowden McCormack Lawyers + Advisers, Price for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Environmental and Planning Law – Ms Sandy Griffin
Bowden McCormack is a proud partner of Charles Darwin University, Northern Territory and sponsors two annual academic prizes each year.
The prize – “Bowden McCormack Lawyers + Advisers, Prize for Outstanding Academic Achievement by an Indigenous Graduand in the Bachelor of Commerce ” – is awarded annually to an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Charles Darwin University Graduate with the highest academic achievement in the Bachelor of Commerce from the previous academic year. For the academic year completed in 2018 this was awarded to Mr Mark Gillard. Originally from Darwin, Mark commenced his degree in Adelaide prior to moving back to Darwin in 2013. Mark now lives and works with his young family In Brisbane and is passionate about being a positive leader and influence within the university and specifically to engage with, guide and mentor other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to attend and ultimately complete tertiary studies. He was a member of the first cohort of the Vice Chancellor’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Graduate Program and is completing his graduate program through the University of Queensland.
The “Bowden McCormack Lawyers + Advisers, Prize for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Environmental and Planning Law’ is awarded annually to the Charles Darwin University student with the highest mark from all unit offerings (Environment and Planning Law) from the previous academic year. For the 2018 year this was awarded to Ms Sandy Griffin. Bowden McCormack congratulates both Mark and Sandy on their awards and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
