Conveyancers & brokers – key members of your property buying team!

Using a Conveyancer

Buying a home is an exciting time. You’ll be thinking about how great it will be to move in and anticipating all the incredible times you’ll have. Reassure yourself by thoroughly checking the location. Drive through and ask yourself: Is this a good area? Are there nearby schools and social areas? What are the traffic conditions? Are there any issues that may impact the enjoyment of your new home?

When you go to contract with the agent, keep feeling awesome and in control by calling a conveyancer. Our conveyancers can walk you through the process step by step. Once you have signed the contract, it will be delivered by the agent to our office either physically or by email. During the four (4) day ‘cooling off’ period our conveyancers will go over the contract with you to be sure that what you signed is right for you. We will make sure that you are not pressured into doing something that is not right for you.

Choosing a Broker

A mortgage broker is someone who can help you to choose the loan product that is best for you. They are aware of many different options available and often have access to insider knowledge, deals and rates that a buyer does not. Some will also be paid by commission from an ultimate lender, making them free to you.

Make sure your broker or banker is local or at least aware of local conditions.  This will help to ensure that your loan application is not rejected because the broker was unaware of the banks’ lending criteria for particular areas.  Brokers and bankers in the Northern Territory should be aware of the types of loans and the locations that the banks will lend for.
