Infrastructure Corridor: Tennant Creek to Darwin – Is YOUR Property Affected?

Recently, one of our clients received correspondence from the NT Government regarding the Tennant Creek to Darwin Infrastructure Corridor Project (Project).

Investigations and consultations for the Project are being carried out by the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics.

At present, they are in the early planning and investigation phase of a long-term project to support the growth of various industries across a range of sectors. These include natural gas, hydrogen energy and digital infrastructure.

The corridor being proposed would provide for future services that include high-pressure pipelines that carry a range of products, including gas, hydrogen energy, electricity and digital communications.

The aim of consolidating all of these services into one infrastructure corridor is to minimise the impact on the land and landowners that would most likely occur through the development of more than one such infrastructure corridor.

A key part of the planning process is consultation with landowners, occupiers and traditional Aboriginal owners about the proposed infrastructure corridor. While consultation is to be undertaken by the Department throughout the project, the first phase is beginning now. For further information, we strongly suggest that you check the corridor route and other background information with the Department.
